I thought that Everless was Amazing! I was quickly swept away in this new world, with all it's twists and turns! I need the next book now! Too bad I have to wait for it ðŸ˜
Title: Everless
Author: Sara Holland
Series: Everless #1
Genre: YA Fantasy
In the kingdom of Sempera, time is currency—extracted from blood, bound to iron, and consumed to add time to one’s own lifespan. The rich aristocracy, like the Gerlings, tax the poor to the hilt, extending their own lives by centuries.
No one resents the Gerlings more than Jules Ember. A decade ago, she and her father were servants at Everless, the Gerlings’ palatial estate, until a fateful accident forced them to flee in the dead of night. When Jules discovers that her father is dying, she knows that she must return to Everless to earn more time for him before she loses him forever.
But going back to Everless brings more danger—and temptation—than Jules could have ever imagined. Soon she’s caught in a tangle of violent secrets and finds her heart torn between two people she thought she’d never see again. Her decisions have the power to change her fate—and the fate of time itself.

I haven't read a fantasy book in a little while and I'm so glad I decided to jump back into the genre by picking up Everless! I was blown away with the world building, the intriguing characters and the plot twists! It was a splendid read, that had me on edge throughout the entire journey!
Jules was a character I really loved; she put her life on the line to try and save her father. She put herself in a dangerous position, even though her father didn't want her to go. She was a selfless, determined and kind hearted girl, who saw the best in those around her. She sought after answers when her life was thrown into turmoil, endeavouring to learn more about herself and her past.
There were numerous characters that I enjoyed meeting throughout Jules' journey, all of whom impacted her in some way. She formed meaningful relationships with people who helped her in tough times. Then there were the Gerling brother's: Roan, whom she loved as a child, and Liam was dark and broody, that chased her and her father away all those years ago. When the Queen and her entourage arrived, they certainly had me guessing to their motives!
The plot was fabulous, packed with interesting twists and turns! The way blood is used as currency in this world, really was an interesting component in the story! The magical side was entertaining and I'm really looking forward to seeing Jules develop into a stronger person of power!

Sara Holland... I tip my hat to you! For her first novel she has found a fan in me! Everless was a magnificent and addictive read that I adored! Once I opened the cover (which I love, by the way, and am so glad I have in the paperback), I was reading it every spare moment I could! Those last few chapters, I devoured quickly and I know I'll have to re-read them a little slower! I am excited for the next book, I need to know what happens next... I cannot wait!
I have a couple of quotes today... things were getting interesting toward the end of the book, I tell ya!
“Ina,” I say again. “Do you love her?”
Roan blinks. Swallows. He takes a step closer to me, close enough that I can smell the scent of pine that clings to his skin. No trace of either lavender or rosewater today. He takes a deep breath that has the hint of a shudder in it.
“No," he says finally. “I don't.”
I’m frozen, stunned. I can’t move, not even when Roan reaches out and closes my hand in his.
“You’re here,” he says haltingly. “You're here, and I missed you, and I . . . I can’t see Ina anymore, not like I used to. Not when I know you‘re at Everless.” He steps even closer. I can feel the heat of him, his breath stirring my hair.

“You cannot stay at Everless," he says.
“I know," I spit. The beginnings of furious, confused tears brew in my throat. “But tell me. If you’ve got proof now that I broke into the Vault, why not just have me bled? If you hate me so much, why get rid of me this way?”
This seems to take Liam aback, if only for a moment. He blinks, raises one hand to fiddle nervously with the clasp of his cloak.
“I don’t hate you, Jules,” he says, voice uneven. “But don’t you understand? You’re in danger."
