When Emily Wayborn receives an answerphone message from her former best friend Amber, she knows something is seriously wrong. Emily hasn't spoken to Amber in years, and when Amber uses a safe word in her message that Emily recognises -- a word they always used to get out of sticky situations during their wild partying days -- she knows Amber needs her help. But when Emily tries to find her, she discovers that Amber is missing.

Determined to track her down, Emily follows a chain of clues that lead her to enigmatic billionaire Reeve Sallis. Renowned for his shady dealings and playboy reputation, Emily is convinced that Reeve knows something about Amber's disappearance. To try and discover the truth, Emily sets out to seduce him. But when she's forced to decide where her loyalty lies, how will Emily choose between saving Amber and saving her heart?

If you devoured Fifty Shades and Sylvia Day's Bared To You series, you will love the latest intense, passionate and page-turning novel from New York Times bestseller Laurelin Paige.

First Touch was a bit of a different read for me, because after the first few chapters I didn’t really like either of the main characters. I couldn’t connect with Emily, even though she was going out of her way to locate her friend. Reeve Sallis was an arrogant playboy who got on my nerves. However, the longer I read the book and learned more about them, they kind of grew on me. They both have demons and secrets, but they let a few walls down and I could see that they were vulnerable, passionate about one another and showed a side to them that only a few people would have seen.

Throughout the story Emily has to re-evaluate her goals. Her relationship with Reeve becomes intense and she needs to trust her instincts. Learning details about her past and the relationship she had with Amber helped me see the difficulties they went through and why they parted six years ago.

Emily and Reeve were hot between the sheets, I tell you! Some encounters were hot and fast, but others were sensual and erotic. They open up to one another, and Reeve lets Emily see why he’s so closed off and cautious about letting someone into his life. He likes to be in control over every aspect in his life, and is very dominant in the bedroom.

But in the end they both had their own agendas and I was hanging on every word to see what would happen. A few twists were thrown in and my jaw hit the floor! This is the first book I’ve read by Laurelin Paige, and when I got to the end of it, I was eager to read more. It took a while but she has hooked me as a fan and I cannot wait to get my hands on Last Kiss!

Here is a bit of Reeve's forceful side coming out, and Emily loved it!

“You’ll come over to swim Sunday morning,” he said. “Nine o’clock. I’ll text you the directions.”
He kissed me again—shorter, but rougher. More demanding, pressing all of his body against me, grinding his thick erection against my abdomen.
Then, abruptly, it was over.
He stepped back from me, his eyes wild as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. With a satisfied nod, he said, “Consider that your personal invitation.”
And he left.

Laurelin PaigeNY Times & USA Today Bestselling author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman and Friedman Literary.
