Cole:
I push her buttons. I want to push them in the good way. Dirty, up-against-the-wall, my-hand-in-her-pants kind of way.
But that’s not possible, because I’m dark and she’s light, and we both know it.
So I push her buttons in the bad way, making her hate me.

Hailey:
If a genie granted me three wishes, I’d ask for Cole Parker to never look at me again, that I’d forget the dark promise in his eyes, and that just once, before he vanished from my life completely, that he’d push me up against a wall and make me scream.
Then I’d go wash my mouth out with soap.

This story was originally published in a three-part serial. Those are included, as well as a bonus postscript section at the back with two additional scenes.

I picked up Hate F*@k for just 99c when I was browsing Amazon, as it had some pretty good reviews, so I thought, why the hell not! It was originally released in three parts, and is now bundled in this one book. It was an addictive read, with plenty of sizzling scenes and a touch of suspense.

Cole works for the Horus Group. They are the people you call when you need your reputation fixed after something damaging goes down. They were originally hired by Hailey’s father, and are now back after Hailey’s sister, Taylor, becomes the centre of attention. Hayley and Cole both harboured fantasies about one another, but never acted on them, but now they are back together it becomes harder to fight their connection. Initially they don’t really like each other, but they soon let lust and passion take control.

I liked that Hailey was a girl with curves, and that Cole was attracted to her from the beginning. He makes her feel beautiful, but Hailey’s a little insecure. Cole‘s an ex-seal, and ripped in all the right places and Hailey doesn’t believe that he’ll stay with her. They are really good together, they find it easy to be around one another and Cole becomes very protective of Hailey.

I liked meeting Cole’s partner’s on the Horus group too. It was amusing to see Hayley teach Wilson to knit, Jason was the broody one of the bunch, and Tag has a complicated relationship with his ex. I cannot wait to get their stories!!

The story got really exciting when an element of suspense was introduced, but it was short lived. I would’ve liked to see more of it, but hopefully there will be more in future books. There were a few twists that I didn’t see coming and a few threads were left open which will be interesting in upcoming reads. Overall, it was a solid start to the series, and I look forward to reading more. I’m not a fan of serials, so I will wait until the stories are complete before picking them up.

Hehehe... I liked this moment, Hailey taking control!!

“What are you doing?” The question comes out part groan as I go to work on his shirt buttons.
“Getting you out of your work clothes.”
Dark amber eyes glow down at me from a rugged face, five-o’clock shadow highlighting all the harsh lines that I’ve come to love. “If I’m going to be stripped down, I’m going to want some naked company.”
I grab his hands and slid them over my hips. “Make it so.”
