Resting
his forehead against mine, he whispered, “Well, I guess I’m breaking a lot of
things these days.”Through shallow and ragged breathing, I asked, “Meaning...?”
“Meaning... that I just broke my promise not to kiss you,” he explained.
“I think
that was kinda my fault.”
Shadow
raised his head. Locking his eyes with mine, he said, “It doesn’t matter whose
fault it was. The fact is, I’m certain now, it’s a promise I can never keep.”
