 My Review

This wasn’t the typical Paranormal book I was expecting it to be.  I thought it was more about the destinies of the main characters, their histories and their developing relationships. It was a fair way into the book before anything Paranormal occurs.

In Savage we meet Christian; he is extremely good looking with his blue eyes, blonde curly hair and perfect body. He is also incredibly smart with a photographic memory. When he lived in Denmark he was quite the ladies man who broke a girl’s heart on more than one occasion. He wasn’t one for forming relationships.

He moves in with Dr & Mrs Kirk and their 19 year old daughter Heather. They are like his wealthy Foster family that he lives with while in Florida. Heather is very attractive as well and they quickly make a connection.

After a tragic accident near the start of the book, Christian’s life changes drastically. He meets the mysterious family next door and the beautiful Aiyana. He begins to question the direction of his life; whether to continue with his medical studies or to pursue his love of music. And he is drawn to Aiyana. She understands him better than anyone else and she tries to help him with the changes that have happened to him.

This is the first book that I have read which is told only from the Males perspective. When I have previously read a males POV, they appear to be quite in touch with their feminine side. Christian is not like that at all. He has confidence in abundance and is used to women falling for him. But if something doesn’t go his way he buries the pain and moves on like it doesn’t affect him, by drinking and hunting animals or women!!

Although the book is set in 1983, the narrator seems to be recalling the plot. It is all about the bigger picture and he is showing us the circumstances which lead to what will happen. He reminisces about his Mother and mentions a few things that haven’t occurred yet, which don’t relate to what is happening now.

Savage is not a very fast-paced book, but it is a captivating read. I really enjoyed the way the plot unfolds, but it is not yet finished. This is only the start and I am curious to see where it is heading!
