Beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with an unforgettable love story between a writer and his unexpected muse.

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day of her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

Colleen Hoover has a magical way of pulling you into her stories, making you fall in love with her artistic characters, only to shatter your heart before you slowly pull the pieces back together. November 9 was another of those kinds of reads, where I met Fallon the Transient and Ben the Writer. The book takes place on the same date over several years, as stated in the blurb, and each time I met these characters, my heart swelled and I fell deeper in love with each of them.

Fallon met her dad at a diner to tell him that she was moving to New York. It seemed that they don’t have a close relationship, and he’s very self absorbed. I could see how much her words hurt and she needed to escape. On her trip back from the toilet, she locks eyes with a hot guy in the booth behind her father, but she’s shy and looks away. When the conversation with her father becomes hard for Fallon, hot guy swoops in and becomes her fake boyfriend! I loved this part! Ben was so sweet, and really sticks up for Fallon, because he could feel how much Fallon was struggling.

I really liked seeing Ben and Fallon together. They formed an easy friendship and they were comfortable being around one another. They slowly learned details about each other and their bond grew deeper. Each year that they met I could see the change in each of them. Fallon started off as a shy girl with low esteem and grew into a confident successful girl. Ben seemed all put together, but I came to realise that he had secrets of his own.

Their relationship was not always an easy ride. There were good times, where I smiled at how relaxed they were with one another, but there were some heartbreaking moments that had tears pouring out of my eyes. I enjoyed seeing a crossover of some characters from another book, as well. Colleen Hoover broke me whilst reading this book, but when I got to the end, I closed it with a satisfied sigh… I cannot wait to see what she brings me next!

There are so many moments I could've picked for today, but I loved this one! Gotta love a guy who wants to create the perfect kiss!

“You should know your own boyfriend better than that.” He takes my face in his hands. “I had to create angst so I could try to make this kiss a ten.” He presses his mouth to mine and kisses me with so much emotion, I forget all the things. Everything. I forget where I am. Who I am. There’s a guy and I’m a girl and we’re kissing and the feels and the knots in my stomach and the chills on my skin and the hand in my hair and my arms that feel too heavy and now he’s grinning against my lips.
