What happens when a girl who always calls the shots meets a guy who's too wild for even her?
A born flirt and good-time party girl, Emerson has never had a problem finding a willing guy. She's always chosen her hookups carefully, and she's never broken her three cardinal rules:
Never let them see the real you.
Never fall in love.
Always leave them begging for more.
Then Shaw comes along. A hottie from the wrong side of the tracks, he's immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. After rescuing her from a disastrous night at a biker bar, he doesn't even try to take her to bed—he calls her a tease and sends her home instead. Unable to resist a challenge, or forget the sexy, dark-eyed, bad-boy biker, she vows to bring him to his knees.
But instead of making Shaw beg, Emerson finds herself craving him. For the first time in her life, she's throwing out her rule book. Suddenly, she's the one panting for a guy she can't control—a guy who won't settle for anything less than the real Emerson and who forces her to do things she's never imagined, including facing a past she thought she'd buried.
A guy who just might leave her wanting more. . . .

Sophie Jordan has done it again!
She has bought to life two characters that I enjoyed to read about. Emerson and
Shaw are from different backgrounds, with their own share of troubles, but they
are so perfect together.
Emerson has a secret in her past that has shaped her to be the girl she
portrays to everyone, including her best friends Pepper and Georgia. Shaw could
see right past her façade from the very first time he locked eyes with her in a
biker bar. When their paths continue to cross, their connection gets even
stronger.
I liked seeing these initial sparks even though Emerson kept trying to
push Shaw away. She is confused about her past and looks scared to move past it
fully. Emerson really is a sweet girl and tries to be all confident but Shaw
kept her second guessing herself. Shaw was a hottie, I tell ya! He is straight
forward with Emerson and pushes her past her limits! He has struggled with the
loss of someone close to him, but is moving on as best as he can.
I really enjoyed this story, although I think Pepper and Reece’s book, Foreplay, is still my favourite. I enjoyed
the direction that this story took and seeing the relationship develop at a
comfortable pace. In Foreplay, the
kink club was mentioned, and in Tease
we got to enter the actual club, so I am excited to see where the story goes
next in regards to this secret club.
Sounds so fun and I can't wait to read the first one
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm really excited to see beneath Emerson's facade, Naomi. And Shaw sounds yummy plus I like that he pushes Emerson. I think she needs that. Gah! I sure hope Santa is bringing me time for Christmas...that's what I really, really want. More time...for books. :)

ReplyDeleteI really must get back to Sophie Jordan's writing! I really enjoyed her Firelight series, and have no idea why it's been so long since I picked up one of her books. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a Ivy Chronicles kindle deal!
