Just for Now by Abbi Glines ~ Review & Swoon Thursday (@AbbiGlines, @SimonSchusterAU)

I'm slowly getting through Abbi Glines' books, and I just finished the forth book in the Sea Breeze series. I'm determined to get through this series this year! I really enjoyed Preston and Amanda's story... It was hard but worth it in the end.

The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.

The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.

He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…

There was this girl.

She was as innocent as he was tainted.

Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.

Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face.

I am slowly continuing the Sea Breeze series and have enjoyed each book to date. In Just for Now I get to see Marcus' little sister try and hook his best friend Preston. To Amanda it was a big step to put herself out there and for Preston it was difficult to keep his past and secrets from her.

Amanda was one determined girl. She went out of her way to get Preston to see her as more than his best friends little sister. I liked that she knew what she wanted and was willing to do everything it took to get him. She stayed nearby because she wanted to be near him, and to be able to support Marcus and Low with their upcoming wedding.

Preston was a real sweetie underneath his bad boy persona. I loved how much he cared for his siblings and wanted nothing but the best for them. He had a deep secret though; one that he was ashamed of and he didn't share with anyone. It was something that would break him and Amanda apart.

Amanda and Preston's story was hard for both of them. Preston would constantly push Amanda away, knowing that he's not good enough for her, and there is only so much rejection one girl can take. I could see the deep feelings they had for one another, but the secrets kept them apart. I loved the connection that Amanda formed with Preston's siblings, which made it harder for all of them. I didn't expect how things would turn out in the end though.... Rock and Trisha were great people. The ending was sweet and I was happy to see other couples I love move to the next stage of their relationships.

*** Swoon Thursday was first bought to us by YA Bound. Since they are no longer with us, and with permission from Trisha Wolfe, I have decided that those of us that love to swoon need a central meet up point.  So here it is ladies! I have a link up for everyone at the bottom of the post you can add your swoons to, and I’ll set it up every week! So tell all other swooners out there to come on over, link up so we can visit each other! ***

Oooh... I loved the caveman side to Preston!!

“What are you wearing?” he whispered in my ear as he pulled me away from Dameon.
“A dress,” I replied, trying to figure out why he was asking me such a ludicrous question and why he was making a scene in front of my brother.
“I’m gonna end up beating someone’s ass tonight because of this dress,” he growled, and let go of my hand.

Abbi GlinesAbbi Glines is a #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Rosemary Beach, Sea Breeze, Vincent Boys, and Existence series. She has a new YA series coming out in the fall of 2015 titled The Field Party Series . She never cooks unless baking during the Christmas holiday counts. She believes in ghosts and has a habit of asking people if their house is haunted before she goes in it. She drinks afternoon tea because she wants to be British but alas she was born in Alabama. When asked how many books she has written she has to stop and count on her fingers. When she’s not locked away writing, she is reading, shopping (major shoe and purse addiction), sneaking off to the movies alone, and listening to the drama in her teenagers lives while making mental notes on the good stuff to use later. Don’t judge.
