If someone had told me a year ago that I was about to fall in love, go on an epic road trip, ride a Triceratops, sing on a bar, and lose my virginity, I would have assumed they were on drugs.
Well, that is, until I met Beckham.
Beck was mostly to blame for my recklessness. Gorgeous, clever, undeniably charming Beck barreled into my life as if it were his mission to make sure I never took living for granted. He showed me that there were no boundaries, rules were for the spineless, and a kiss was supposed to happen when I least expected.
Beck was the plot twist that took me by surprise. Two months before I met him, death was knocking at my door. I’d all but given up my last scrap of hope when suddenly, I was given a second chance at life. This time around, I wasn’t going to let it slip through my fingers.
We set out on a road trip with nothing to lose and no guarantees of tomorrow.
Our road trip was about young, reckless love. The kind of love that burns bright.
The kind of love that no road-map could bring me back from.

I've read a few of R.S. Grey's books now, and each one touches me on a deep level. Who could believe that I could be even more touched by this read, but I was! It was a beautiful read of second chances, friendship and first loves.
I was actually hooked by this read from the first chapter. I read it on Amazon first before purchasing it, knowing I had to read it immediately. Abby was such a sweet girl, and due to the hassles of her health, had lived a very sheltered upbringing. It was sweet to see her take on her road trip, with a stranger that she got to know briefly.
Beck was such a genuinely nice guy, and I loved how persistent he was with Abby. He fell for her from the first time he met Abby, and was willing to bring her out of her comfort zone so she could experience so many firsts with him. They formed such a good bond on their trip, and even after they returned home Beck wanted to be there for Abby.
It wasn't always smooth sailing for them as they faced loss and dealt with health issues. Their connection was so strong and it was always going to be hard for them. Even though the author broke my heart, I loved the turn this story took and showed me how deep Abby and Becks love was. Each book I pick up by R.S. Grey is better than the last, and I can't wait to jump into another of her reads soon.

I just couldn't help it, there were so many good moments in this read... so here are three!!
“Did you just attempt to use tongue on your first kiss?” he asked, sporting his dimpled grin. I hated that he was laughing at me. Had that kiss not affected him at all? I leaned forward and covered his smile with my hand, but it only made him smile wider. I could feel his warm breath on my palm.
“I thought that’s where it was heading.” I groaned, wishing a bear would maul our tent in that exact moment. “You can’t make fun of me!”
His features suddenly turned serious and he reached up to peel my hand away from his face.
When his lips were finally free, he replied, “Abby, I don’t see how I could possibly make fun of you for practically sucking my face off.”

“Ah, so no attempts at second kisses should take place this morning.”
My head snapped up to meet his gaze. “Oh, so you think there will be more attempts?”
He smirked. “There will definitely be a second kiss in your life. It could even be with me if you play your cards right.”
Confident, goofy, sonofa jerk.
“Nah, I tried it that one time and it wasn’t that great. I think I’ll abstain for the rest of my life.”

I’d watched enough movies to realize that a guy offering to put sunscreen on you meant that in about ten seconds he would accidentally untie your bikini top and then you’d have raunchy beach sex. Was I prepared for public sex? I hadn’t yet mastered private sex—or, you know, anything past making out.
