To want what you’re not supposed to have…
She is only nineteen.
She is his new stepfather’s daughter.
She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.
But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.
Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…
Blaire just may have fallen too far.

Most of you know I've been slowly making my way through the Sea Breeze series, but I decided it was time to begin the Rosemary Beach series, because I just couldn't wait any more! And you know what, I am kicking myself! Right from the opening chapters I knew I was going to enjoy the book. I liked Blaire, she had a kind heart and had been through so much loss and was struggling as of late. She was independent, a hard worker and a sweet, likeable girl. My heart had broke for her but I loved that she wanted to move on with her life.
Then I met Rush, the son of the famous drummer from Slacker Demon. He grew up with everything he ever wanted, had plenty of money and girls. But when he was with Blaire, you could see that she changed something in him. They had an attraction to one another, but Blaire was determined not to let a guy control who she was.
I liked seeing both of these characters grow throughout the story. Blaire developed more confidence and made some new friends. She had a good job, saved a lot of money and was determined to get her own place as soon as she could. I felt sorry for her as her father wasn't there when he was supposed to be and that she felt that Rush had to deal with her.
Rush didn't seem to know how to deal with Blaire, he was attracted to her but tried so hard to stay away from her. He put her as far away from him as he could, and continued his playboy ways, but I could see that it was getting harder each day. Once these two got past their denial, it was hot, passionate and fierce! They belonged together and found a connection unlike anything they've had before.
However, it's the secrets that hurt the most! And when Blaire found out it broke my heart! I shed a tear for her, for everything that she had been through and the news she had to process! But that ending! Gah! I know I'll be diving into the next book soon I need to know what happens next between Blaire and Rush! Well done Abbi Glines... I am hooked!
My teaser is a bit long today, but it was a big turning point between Rush and Blaire! I loved this moment, her sticking up for herself and Rush struggling with his desire!
“Why did you wear that?” he asked in a cold hard voice.
That was the last straw. I stood back up then inched higher on my tiptoes so that I was in his face. “Because my mother bought it for me to wear. I was stood up and never got the chance. Tonight you invited me and I wanted to fit in. So I wore the nicest thing I had. I’m sorry that it wasn’t quite nice enough. You know what though? I don’t give a shit. You and your uppity spoiled friends all need to get over yourselves.”
I pushed his chest with my finger and glared at him daring him to say one more word about my dress.
Rush opened his mouth then closed his eyes tightly and shook his head. “Fuck!” he growled. Then his eyes flew open and his hands were suddenly in my hair and his mouth was on mine. I didn’t know how to react. His lips were soft but demanding as he licked and bit my bottom lip. Then he pulled my top lip into his mouth and sucked gently. “I’ve been wanting to taste this sweet plump lip since you walked into my living room,” he murmured before slipping his tongue into my mouth as I gasped at his words.

Abbi Glines is a #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Rosemary Beach, Sea Breeze, Vincent Boys, and Existence series. She has a new YA series coming out in the fall of 2015 titled The Field Party Series . She never cooks unless baking during the Christmas holiday counts. She believes in ghosts and has a habit of asking people if their house is haunted before she goes in it. She drinks afternoon tea because she wants to be British but alas she was born in Alabama. When asked how many books she has written she has to stop and count on her fingers. When she’s not locked away writing, she is reading, shopping (major shoe and purse addiction), sneaking off to the movies alone, and listening to the drama in her teenagers lives while making mental notes on the good stuff to use later. Don’t judge.
