Ava Cameron has stars in her eyes. When the feisty designer moves to NYC after graduation with her best friend, things are finally clicking into place.

But now their brand new label, Travesty, is under attack.

The man leading the charge is the hottest hookup Ava ever had. One she never wanted to see again...

Nate Townsend might be from the right schools, the right neighborhood and the right family. But under the surface, his scars run deep.

When the society prince and the loud designer come face to face on a case that could decide Ava's future, sparks fly.

Nate's not about to let Ava forget she's the only person who knows his secrets. And Ava’s walking the line between getting Travesty back on track and being dragged into the gutter by one stubborn young lawyer planning to take her down.

If Nate Townsend didn’t make the gutter look so damn good...

Piper Lawson has followed up her first book Schooled, with Stripped, another light, entertaining read that I devoured in a day. This book takes place in New York, after the girls relocate to follow their dreams of succeeding in the fashion industry. What Ava didn’t realise was that a copyright issue would bring her face-to-face with her one night stand, from their trip to New York six months earlier.

Ava is a quirky kind of girl; says exactly what she's thinking, she’s pretty relaxed, is determined to succeed and has a passion for creating clothes. I loved how she would go anywhere and would drift away designing clothes on paper, trying to get ideas for the future. She tries to do right by her family and friends, and knows that if she can’t produce that she’ll be letting everyone down. She has a kind heart, but will stand up for herself if confronted by someone or if a problem arises.

Nate didn’t think that he would ever see Ava again and was shocked to see her walk in to his office. He’s smart, successful and comes from a wealthy family, but has worked hard to get where he is. I learnt that he’s had it a bit rough, and finds it hard to let people in, so it was great to see Ava get under his skin. I loved how they both tried to fight their attraction, but the more time they spent together, the harder it got.

These two constantly bantered with one another! I loved seeing them get all fired up and the sexual tension would grow between them. They are a great pair, both passionate and determined to succeed with their work. There were a few issues that they had to overcome and I was happy that they could take time to sort through their priorities.

Stripped was a great sequel to the first book, and can easily be read as a standalone as it features a whole new couple. Piper did a great job at building this world as the characters found their way now that they’ve completed college. I liked all the characters, and enjoyed the introduction of Jordan, who seems to fit well in Ava and Lex’s world. I’m excited to get more from this world to see how the girls go in the future!

This part made me laugh! I love how Ava has no filter and just says what she's thinking!

But what stopped me in my tracks were the reading glasses on his face and the Wall Street Journal open in front of him.
Oh.
Fuck.
Me.

I’d never thought of myself as a glasses kind of girl, but Nate looked hot. Like some athlete-banker-superhero. The whole Superman/Clark Kent thing wasn’t that far off …
His eyes narrowed suspiciously. “What?”
“Nothing,” I tried to sound cheerful. It came out strangled.
He waited me out.
“You just look …” I trailed off. Felt my face go blotchy.
“Unemployed?” he quipped. “I might be if I take any more days off.”
“No!”
“Then what?” he taunted. “Come on, out with it.”
Uh-oh. I could feel it coming. Word bomb …
“Fine! You look sexy as hell and I might’ve been on the verge of orgasm just looking at you, OK?”
His teasing smile fell away.

Schooled is Piper Lawson’s debut novel. Piper loves reading and writing stories about sassy girls and the guys who fall hard for them.

Piper’s main household expenditures include books, shoes, and chocolate, not necessarily in that order. Coffee = life, and she’ll defend it accordingly. Piper has two business degrees, neither of which she’s leveraged into a fashion label (unlike her smarter, younger protagonists).

Home is Canada plus occasional sunny winter escapes.

She would LOVE to hear from you on Goodreads or Twitter @piperjlawson.
