Today I have a guest post by C.C Koen where I asked whether or not she has a list of do's or don'ts... check it out and enter the giveaway!!
Title: Unlikely Allies
Author: C.C. Koen
Genre: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Published: June 13th 2015
What happens when a single mom’s four-year-old daughter falls in love with Mr. Right and she doesn’t?
Maggie Tyson’s rule: no bad boys. Her incarcerated ex-husband broke her of that attraction. Needing to escape his threats and the scrutiny of the people in her hometown, Maggie relocates to New York City. Determined to not make the same mistakes, she has a mile-long list of dos and don’ts. Unfortunately, her daughter, Cecily, doesn’t like to follow them. When Cecily wanders away from her and right into Rick Stone’s office, Maggie knows he’s the exact type she’s been trying to avoid. Can she resist him or will she succumb to his willful charm?
Rick Stone’s rule: bed them don’t wed them. Running a multi-billion dollar business doesn’t leave him with much time to do anything else, particularly with an overbearing grandfather breathing down his neck. But when a man works hard, he needs to play even harder. Voted America’s most eligible bachelor, Rick doesn’t have any problems getting women into his bed—except one.
Two auburn beauties stumble into his life.
One will break his heart.
The other—heal it.
Will he love or leave them?

"Do you have your own mile-long list of dos and don’ts for every day life and/or when writing a book?"
I think most people have an internal do and don’t list and if not, then there is an internal voice that pops up every once and a while that prods us to listen. Some may call it a sixth sense or whatever, but we all have some type of moral compass that helps us draw a line between doing something bad or choosing good.
Life is quite fascinating and the fact that we live in a nation where we get free choice, makes each day a gamble. Human nature fascinates me. It is intriguing as a writer to explore the darker side of human nature and be able to write about it, when in real life we wouldn’t ever choose bad.
That is the beauty of writing. You can let your imagination go wild and really explore topics and themes that push readers and writers psyche into the realm of, what if? As an author, I look forward to writing about topics I never thought I would.

Thanks for being on the tour! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome premise! I love the whole idea of the "to-do" list and the fact that the MC doesn't want to follow them makes for a very interesting time so I think I can get past the cliche romance in this one. :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. I like the point about free choice. And the blurb sounds pretty amazing as well! Have a good weekend, Naomi!
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in the Unlikely Allies tour!
ReplyDeleteHuman nature is fascinating. I think that's why I love the dark reads, I'm curious to know how does one get from good/okay to evil?
ReplyDeleteGreat guest post! That's what I like about reading. Letting my imagination take flight, and ask the question, "What if?" I agree with the author that most people have a moral compass that they follow or a sixth sense :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
My pleasure!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds pretty good! Girls who are independent are always fun to read about!
ReplyDeleteIt does sound good, huh? Had a great week end too, thanks Ramona!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure! Thanks for stopping in!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know that one too... something obviously went down.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! I am too conservative nowadays! Would be fun to rebel a bit, wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love those what if moments! I'd like to do that too!
ReplyDeleteI do think books explore parts of life we might not do or explore otherwise. Great post.
ReplyDeleteI think so too, they take you out of reality and into something you may never had the chance to do.
