I have loved Lori Foster’s Ultimate series so far and Holding Strong didn’t let me down either!! These fighters are under my skin! The guys are tough, hot and dominant and they chase after the girls that steal their hearts. They are a close knit group and they will do anything for those they consider family. And it was no different for Denver and Cherry.
I could see that Denver and Cherry had chemistry in the previous book, so it was no surprise that they would get together so quickly in Holding Strong. They have both tiptoed around their feelings and each other for so long and it was great that they finally got together.
Denver has a gentle side that would have any girl swoon, and boy, did I swoon!! He took control early in the book and made sure Cherry was cared for. He wanted to be there at all times, but his hackles soon rose when Cherry’s past came knocking and his protective side came out.
Cherry has lived a difficult life and slowly allowed Denver to see her past. She tried to be all independent, which did irk me a little, but in the end she knew what she had to do to get through her situation. I liked seeing her relationship build with Denver, as it was intense but scorching as well.
I love how all the guys are so protective of all the girls even though they are not all in relationships. I love seeing each of the guys and the extra depth that the POV’s from Stack and Armie gave to not only this book, but the whole series too.
Holding Strong was another fabulous instalment in the series. I was on edge constantly, as the danger was on my mind, because the guys from Cherry’s past made me shiver… they were creepy and nasty, and I couldn’t wait for them to get what they deserved. Lori Foster creates these amazing characters that you become attached to, and you feel like you know them personally. The world is exciting, but dangerous as well, and you feel like you are right there with all the characters. I cannot wait to see how the next couple (Stack’s book) finally get together!
