Children's librarian by day. Romance novelist by night.
British single father.
Someone else is writing this love story...
Blair Walton isn't your average curvaceous tattooed children's librarian. She's also one half of bestselling romance author, Scarlet Rose. Along with her BFF Raine, she spends her nights writing books so steamy, she's afraid they would shock her Southern conservative grandmother to death . . . if she knew about them. That's why she and Raine write in secret.
On deadline for their latest book and out of ideas, Raine suggests (demands) that Blair find a guy and "do some research". Declan Bennet has all the qualifications: He's British, looks fabulous in a suit, has glorious blue eyes and gets bonus points for being an amazing single dad to his adorable son, Drake. But what starts out as a research project quickly turns into something much more. And Blair's not the only one with secrets.

UnWritten was a sweet read about Blair, one half of a romance writing duo, who works a day job and is a pretty normal girl. While working at her day job, she meets Drake and inevitably his father, Declan, and her best friend Raine pressures her to date Declan to bring some spice to their writing game.
I liked Blair; she never really held back and is comfortable in her own skin. She has lots of tattoos but they just portrayed who she was on the inside. Blair and Declan were attracted to each other from the beginning, and the more time they spent together, the stronger their relationship become. Neither of them were looking for it, but their sizzling chemistry kept bringing them closer together.
Declan was sweet and often made me swoon. Not only does he have that sexy British accent, but he is like the perfect gentleman and always bought Blair gifts that suited her perfectly. Declan’s son Drake was a great kid and really gave extra depth to both Blair and Declan’s relationship and to the overall story.
I think that Chelsea M. Cameron did a fantastic job of showing me the inside to an authors lifestyle; juggling an everyday job, a relationship and family. It really can be stressful. There were a few hard moments for Blair throughout this story, but it inevitably made her relationship stronger with not only Declan, but her best friend Raine. And Raine!! She is a crack up! I would definitely like to see more of her!!

ReplyDeleteGreat review, Naomi. I've read both My Favorite Mistake and My Sweetest Escape by Ms. Cameron and enjoyed both. I'll be adding this one to my 2015 TBR pile.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds ok.... but to be honest, it kind of lost me at "sweet read" lol. I've been in a dark and dirty mood lately. However, I have read this author before and really liked her work, so I would have no doubts at all that this book is good!
