When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.
Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

If you haven’t read a Colleen Hoover book yet, I suggest you pick Ugly Love, because OMG! It was so good! From the very beginning, when Tate stumbled upon Miles, I knew it was going to be an interesting story, but I don’t think that I was prepared for the emotional turmoil and eventual tears that would accompany Miles story!
Tate was a character that I really liked getting to know. She moved in with her brother while doing her masters in nursing whilst working at the same time. She’s a very driven girl and never planned on a guy being in the picture yet. She realised quite early that she won’t be able to stick to the rules Miles has set out and I could see her slowly falling for Miles each time they are together.
This book is told in dual POV’s, but most of Miles’ perspective is from six years prior. I loved seeing this time of his life, even though it touched on one of those taboo subjects I have read a bit of lately (you’ll have to read it to find out *wink*). Even though this was a good time for him – although a little difficult – I was unsure of what was going to happen that would bring it all crumbling down, because I could see that it was going to happen. Miles’ perspective was an emotional journey and it sure showed us why he is as closed off as what he is.
I just loved seeing Tate and Miles together though. Their arrangement is a little difficult because Miles is a pilot and away for work for long periods of time, but they somehow make it work. Even though they are trying not to fall in love, I could see it was definitely happening. They are both quite passionate behind closed doors and care deeply for one another. They help each other when needed, but Miles is unable to let Tate in like she wants to. I liked Tate’s brother Corbin and Ian, Miles’ friend, who are both pilots as well. They were great side characters that gave extra depth to the story.
Colleen Hoover has definitely reinforced to me why she is such a good story writer. She continues to build some genuine characters and wove them into this emotionally charged story. I laughed, swooned and cried while reading this book and was hopeful they would be able to find happiness and peace together. Pick up this book as soon as possible people, it is certainly worth it!!
