Being the daughter of a big-city mayor, twenty-one year old Skye Summers has giant shoes to fill in her first real job out of college. With the public spotlight on her family, and her dad’s expectations running high, she jumps at the chance to work side-by-side on an important project with her sexy new boss.

Playboy entrepreneur Landon Steele has built a successful entertainment PR firm and broken more than a few hearts along the way. He’s counting on his enthusiastic new assistant to help him expand his business into LA… until he discovers she’s a pampered rich girl who’s in the public spotlight as much as his famous clients. Still, he agrees to give her a chance, and soon the two are heating up the bedroom as well as the boardroom.

But when Skye’s ex-boyfriend threatens to reveal a dangerous secret from her past, her job, relationship with Landon, and her father’s career are suddenly all on the line. Will she be forced to leave Landon? Or will she pursue her heart, regardless of the cost?

I won this book during the release day party and it was my first shot at reading Elizabeth's work. I really enjoyed the story she built and the characters she created. It was a sweet read and the characters emotions were often in turmoil as they fight their attraction and their pasts.

Sykes and Landon's first meeting was eventful to say the least. Landon eyes Syke in a bar, she heads up for a drink and she is deflecting the advances of a guy who is clearly drunk. After a little mishap, she runs to the bathroom and when she emerges, ends up tongue tied with the handsome stranger (Landon) before dashing out of the building. Then, a few weeks later, handsome stranger turns out to be your boss!! Talk about a crap load of sexual tension right there! It was amusing to see this first encounter, and how they felt about it. They tried to remain as professional as possible, but you could see that their will power was becoming too difficult to overcome.

I really liked both characters. Skye, fresh out of college is a very confident girl and is determined to do her job well. Her father is in politics so she is used to being in the spotlight and mingling with people. She is easy to talk to and has a sweet personality. Landon is a great guy. He's quickly built himself a successful PR business and has plans to expand. He is very good at his job and is an all-round nice guy. Both characters have issues from their past that come back to haunt them and they find it difficult to work through them together.

This is the first book of Elizabeth's that I have read and I really enjoyed it from cover to cover. The characters were well developed, including the secondary characters which gave greater depth to the story. The plot had twists and turns along the way and I wasn't sure if they would be able to find a HEA. The characters had issues to deal with but it was undeniable that they had a great connection. I am definitely keen to read more of her work, going back to the start and also reading some of her upcoming work.

Thank you to Livia Jamerlan for gifting me a copy of Elizabeth’s fabulous book!!
