Axelia fought an army of vampires and survived. Once fated as the destroyer of the vampire race, she is now welcomed into the immortal empire and revered as a god.
But instead of relishing her victory, she faces a dangerous new world and an empire at war. Axelia is thrust into the position of supreme vampire and caught in the crossfire of battle. To make matters worse, her role alienates Lucas, the one vampire that she trusts.
Her choices have brutal consequences and her power spawns evil enemies. And they know how to get to her — by hurting those whom she loves most.
Bestselling author Wynne Channing's highly-anticipated sequel to What Kills Me is another heart-pounding thrill ride filled with stunning twists, tragic betrayal and bloody action.

What Kills Me was the first book in this series and I absolutely loved it. I was keen to get the sequel I Am Forever and it was a fantastic follow up. There is action galore, deception and new friendships made and I enjoyed every minute of reading it!!
In the beginning of the story, I was enjoying Zee's (Alexia’s) relatively calm life; learning about vampires, politics and the monarchy. Seeing Zee as a relaxed normal girl was interesting. She’s beginning to feel like she is fitting into the Vampire world, but soon she is under pressure and constant scrutiny and feels very alone. She learns so much about herself and her place in her new world and it was great to see how she handled these new developments.
Lucas is a bit withdrawn in this book, but there is no denying that he will risk himself for Zee. He is very protective of her now they are under the Monarchy’s watchful eyes. An incident occurs where Lucas wasn’t there for Zee and he is left a bit shattered about it. You can see he is conflicted, but he doesn’t like living here and wants to get out.
When the Vampire War hits close to home for Zee, she is soon on the run again with Lucas and a new friend, to save the people she loves most. I was quickly drawn into this fast paced action, uncovering the lies and secrets to get to the top of the problem and it was a fast page turner for me!!
Wynne knows how to capture your attention with her writing and the action scenes are full of blood and gore, and I love it! She is very descriptive and I can imagine myself standing in a room with fighting vampires, with limbs and heads falling all around me. The pace of the book is pretty fast and I was swept away until that final page. It was exciting to be back in this world again, that's for sure! If you enjoy a fast-paced Vampire series, I suggest you get onto this one immediately!
I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.
