Review ~ Ricochet by Krista and Becca Ritchie

Ricochet (Addicted, #1.5)Title: Ricochet
Author: Krista and Becca Ritchie
Series: Addicted #1.5
Genre: NA Contemporary Romance
Published: August 1st 2013

As a sex addict, Lily Calloway must do the impossible. Stay celibate for 90 days.

Cravings and fantasies become her new routine, but while Loren Hale recovers from his alcohol addiction, Lily wonders if he’ll realize what a monster she really is. After all, her sexual compulsions begin to rule her life the longer she stays faithful to him.

Progress. That’s what Lily’s striving for. But by trying to become closer to her family—people who aren’t aware of her addiction—she creates larger obstacles. When she spends time with her youngest sister, she learns more about her than she ever imagined and senses an unsettling connection between Daisy and Ryke Meadows.

With Lily and Lo’s dysfunctional relationship teetering and unbalanced, they will need to find a way to reconnect from miles apart. But the inability to “touch” proves to be one of the hardest tests on their road to recovery. Some love brushes the surface. Some love is deeper than skin.

Lily and Lo have three months to discover just how deep their love really goes.
I absolutely loved Addicted to Now, when I read it back in July and I have been keen for more in the series. Ricochet was a great insight to how Lily has coped with Lo going to rehab and her getting over her own addiction. She has great support from her sister Rose, her boyfriend Connor and in his own way, Ryke helps too. Lily deals a lot more with her family and all her fears surface, but she deals with them as best she can. She sees a psychiatrist, and faces many ups and downs. She gets into situations that test her resolve and somehow manages to push through.

It was interesting to watch the day to day struggles that Lily had with her addiction. Slowly she began to take it upon herself to do things like getting rid of her porn. The support of her group was fantastic and they helped her through it whether she wanted to or not. But this whole story was about Lily growing as a person and she finds herself in a lot of situations in public and private that test her restraint. She really does a remarkable job, even without Lo being there.

I liked seeing more of Lily’s sisters, Rose and Daisy. Rose knows of Lily’s problems and is doing all she can to get her on the right track. Daisy is a lot younger than Lily and she learns a lot about her sister that she didn't know before. Ryke is his usual pain in the butt, however he promised Lo that he'd look after Lily and goes out of his way to do so. He seems a little rough around the edges, but I like his bluntness. We didn’t see a lot of Lo in the present day, but what glimpses we did had my heart melting. They have a strong connection and this time apart may do big things for their relationship.

After finishing this book I want to dive straight into the next book to see what happens with Lily and Lo now. They have faced their fears and now need to move on together. I enjoyed the writing yet again and find it hard to put the book down. I liked how we got to see back into the past at Lily and Lo’s relationship as well, it has given more depth to the characters. And there were plenty of sizzling scenes and the struggles of addiction kept me wired to the plot. Addicted for Now is going to be an interesting ride for sure!!

I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.
