Review/Giveaway ~ Wild Child by M. Leighton

Title: Wild Child
Author: M. Leighton
Series: The Wild Ones #1.5
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Expected Publication: October 22nd 2013

Jenna Theopolis has always known what she wanted. Getting out of her small hometown of Greenfield was number one on her list of priorities. Until she met Rusty Catron.

Rusty’s fun-loving personality was the perfect match for Jenna’s inner wild child. But what started off as a summer fling quickly turns into something more. At least it does for Jenna.

Rusty has lived with the ghost of his father’s abandonment since he was a child, but now he’s beginning to feel the crippling effects of his scars. He wants to trust in Jenna, but deep down he doesn’t believe someone so wild and free can ever be tamed.

But tragedy strikes, pushing Jenna out of Greenfield and leaving Rusty with a choice to make—face his inner demons or lose the love of his life. Forever.
I just knew I'd love this novella! M. Leighton always blows me away and I was excited to get back into the world of Trick and Cami with Jenna and Rusty's very own story. It was funny, steamin’ hot and heartbreaking all wrapped up into one amazing story.

Jenna knows how she feels about Rusty, but she is unsure about his feelings about her. When Cami comes up with a crazy plan where they both go on a chastity kick, she takes it on board, and even takes it up a notch, by doing things that she knows will push Rusty to his limits. And if anyone can come up with crazy ideas it is Jenna! Rusty's abandonment issues are the big problem for him, and he expects Jenna to leave him and never look back. But for now, he is going to have as much fun as he can with Jenna while she's here.
“If we ain’t sleeping, we’re drinking. Now go get your stash of beer from downstairs. We’re gonna need a lot more than what’s in the fridge. We’ve got some hot blood to cool.”
So this is where the fun really began and I was on the edge of my seat seeing what this couple would do to torment each other. It is all leading up to a massive event, so there are parties to attend where some dressing up is required! *fans self* And amongst all the fun you can see that these two genuinely care for each other, but their personal issues hold them back. In some cases I just wanted to shake both of them and tell them to share their feelings, but as always, they take the long road!
I’m not sure what the female equivalent of blue balls is, or if there even is one, but if there is, I’ve got it!
They are both level headed when it comes to the long term though, as they both have plans for the future. Jenna has just finished her studies and is being offered some jobs and Rusty wants to expand his business. However, they are finding it hard to see how it can happen together.
And I’d love to be Rusty’s prey. For him to stalk me until he catches me, to grab me with his hands and hold me down so he can devour me.
The influence of both Cami and Trick play a big role in their lives. They are all pretty close and rely on each other for support. It is because of them that they are all together this summer as it is. There is no denying the chemistry between Jenna and Rusty, where one scene in particular had my toes curling… I never realised how hot that could be!! And I’m not sharing any details with you except Michelle sure knows how to make it sizzling! Things are not all rosy for this couple though and my heart copped a hammering! I'm pretty sure it kept cracking until it shattered… Only to be put back together again. I loved it and I can't wait for more!!

I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.

  5. This sounds good! I've actually been thinking about trying one of her books for a while now and a novella might be a good place to start. I an wary of romance novellas though - they can so easily go wrong. Cool review honey, love the quotes. :-)
