In the real world, when you vanish into thin air for a week, people tend to notice.
After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.
But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.
Julie Kagawa has done it again! She has written an amazing sequel that left me hanging for more! I loved the Iron fey series and this spin off is just as remarkable. It was an action packed story with plenty of fey creatures and twists and turns throughout.
It has only been a week since the previous book finished and Ethan is trying to get back to normal. But it's not long until someone is knocking on his door for help. Keeran the Iron Prince has been missing since they returned and Ethan is out to find him. But there are people keeping secrets from him regarding his connection with the fey and no one will tell him the details.
Ethan is just a great character. I like the way he takes everything in his stride and never goes into anything without thinking it through. He is still very sceptical about the fey and treads lightly when he wants something from them.
Kenzie is awesome too. She is great support for Ethan and even though she has her own issues she wants to be there for Ethan. Their connection is getting stronger even though her father is not happy with it.
Keeran.... There's something about him that does my head in. He is great one minute, and then he’s doing something that makes me not trust him. I was unsure of his motives in the beginning and where his loyalties laid. He is a fantastic character that draws you right into the story, and I must say I do love this shady character!!
I liked the small roles that we had with the originals from the series, Meghan, Ash, Puck and Grimalkin. They are all great characters and I get all excited when they pop up!
The Iron Traitor was a captivating read and I was turning the pages quickly because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The world that Julie builds is spectacular and I love indulging myself in it. This book in particular is frustrating as it has been left on one amazing cliffhanger. I cannot believe I have to wait a whole year to see what happens next! But the whole build up to it was exciting!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be on the edge of my seat waiting for more!!
I received a copy of this book from Harlequin Teen Aus via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
