Book Description

An ambitious intern. A perfectionist executive. And a whole lot of name calling. Discover the story that garnered more than two million reads online.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.

As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other.

Originally only available online as The Office by tby789—and garnering over two million reads on fan fiction sites—Beautiful Bastard has been extensively updated for re-release.

My Review

I haven’t read any fan fiction before, so this story was new to me and boy was it fun!! There are so many sex scenes in this story that I felt that I may have to change my panties as frequently as Chloe lost hers! Chloe and Mr Ryan’s journey is not just lust, it was full of hard and fast sex and they may even become more than just f*ck-buddies!! What a whirl wind romance!!

Chloe has always been focused on her career and has worked hard to get where she is. She is determined to do the best she can and let nothing stop her from doing so. Even her Beautiful Bastard boss, Bennett Ryan, will not throw her off her course. They don’t like each other and spend most of their time being Business polite or bickering behind closed doors. Chloe is not afraid of speaking her mind and I found her to be full of spunk.

Bennett is what every girl dreams of; a gorgeous, rich and powerful business man, who knows his way around a woman’s body. The only thing is, that he’s such an asshole and right from the start we see him being a bastard to Chloe after the crappy day that she has been having.

What I enjoyed the most about these two characters was the chemistry they had when they got together. Most of the time it was steamy, but then other times it was frustrating and tense. It was amusing to get to know them and I think that the alternating POV’s made it easier to see both sides of their relationship. They are ‘intelligent, determined, hardworking and loyal’ people and make such a good team at work.

I thought that plot was entertaining as we watch them make some choices that will determine how their lives and careers will go. There are numerous sex scenes and at one stage I didn’t think there was going to be one chapter in the book where they would be able to keep their hands off one another. It was a fast-paced read and I am excited to read more of Christina Lauren’s work in the future.
