Teaser Tuesdays #1 (July 31)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I'm currenty reading an ebook, so it's hard to flick through to a random page, so I grabbed the next book in my TBR pile! I decided to pick just two lines from the page. Here goes!

My Teaser

“He’s just a friend. He has a girlfriend.”
“Anna has a boooy-friend,” Seany Chants.

  8. Fun exercise, Naomi! (But definitely points out my need to re-write. I guess I do tend to get a bit long-winded with my sentences. :o)

"The blade preceded his hand and a curl of wood wound up over his knuckles like chimney smoke as Salter finished carving the initials and the date into a beam, “G.T. + S.B. 1864”, high up enough that no one would notice for a very long time. He thought, maybe if he just drove the knife blade down into the wood deep enough he might have been able to lodge there, digging in and never having to leave his home, this place of enslavement.
But the task was done, his initials and the initials of the woman he loved, carved into the beam and into the center of his heart."
    -STAR CROSSED (Tentative title.)

Okay, that's officially three sentences, (and probably enough for 10 sentences. Snip, snip, snip. Here I go.)
